Player Interface
The interactive lecture player is a full-screen experience designed for studying. After your lecture has been analyzed by AI (via Lecture Analysis), open the project and tap Open Player. The player takes over the entire screen, replacing the standard project view with a focused reading and listening environment.
The player screen is divided into two main areas. The upper area displays the current chapter content -- AI-generated summaries, key quotes, tables, and other content blocks. The lower area contains playback controls: play/pause, a seek bar showing your position within the current chapter, and the elapsed and total duration.
You can scroll vertically through the chapter content while audio plays. The content and audio are synchronized -- as you read, the audio plays the corresponding section of the lecture. If you tap a specific paragraph, the audio jumps to the timestamp where that content was spoken.
Chapter Navigation
AI analysis divides your lecture into logical parts, and each part contains one or more chapters (themes). The player lets you navigate through this structure sequentially or by jumping to any chapter directly.
Navigation controls:
- Next chapter -- swipe left or tap the forward arrow to advance to the next chapter. The audio jumps to the start of that chapter automatically.
- Previous chapter -- swipe right or tap the back arrow to return to the previous chapter.
- Chapter indicator -- a progress bar at the top shows which chapter you are on (for example, "Chapter 3 of 12"). Tap the indicator to see all chapters at a glance.
Each chapter has its own duration shown next to the chapter title. Short chapters might cover a single definition in under a minute, while longer chapters might span a 15-minute discussion of a complex topic. The time display helps you plan your study sessions.
Between parts, the player shows a transition screen with the part title and a brief summary of what the next section covers. This gives you a natural break point to pause and process what you have learned.
Table of Contents
Tap the Table of Contents button (list icon in the top-right corner) to open the TOC sheet. This is a scrollable overlay that shows the full structure of your lecture:
- Part titles with Roman numerals (I, II, III)
- Chapter titles with Arabic numerals under each part
- Duration for each chapter
- A checkmark next to chapters you have already read or listened to
Tap any chapter in the TOC to jump directly to it. The sheet closes and the player loads the selected chapter with its corresponding audio position. This is the fastest way to navigate a long lecture -- instead of swiping through chapters one by one, you can jump to the exact section you need to review.
The TOC also shows your overall progress through the lecture. A progress bar at the top of the sheet indicates what percentage of chapters you have completed.
Mini Player
When you exit the full-screen player (by tapping the down arrow or swiping down), a mini player bar appears at the bottom of the project screen. The mini player shows:
- The current chapter title
- A play/pause button
- A compact progress bar showing position within the current chapter
- Elapsed time and remaining time
The mini player lets you continue listening while browsing your markers, reading transcription text, or navigating to other parts of the app. Tap the mini player bar to return to the full-screen player at any time.
Audio playback continues even when the mini player is active. You can switch between the full-screen player and the mini player without interrupting playback. The transition is seamless -- the audio keeps playing and the full-screen view opens to the current position.
The mini player also appears on the lock screen and in the iOS Control Center, giving you standard media controls (play, pause, skip forward, skip back) without opening the app.
Quiz Sections
Between chapters, the player can present auto-generated quizzes based on the content you just read. These quizzes test your comprehension of the material and reinforce key concepts through active recall.
Quiz sections appear as interactive cards between chapter transitions. Each quiz typically contains 2-4 questions in various formats:
- Multiple choice -- select the correct answer from four options
- True or false -- evaluate a statement based on the lecture content
- Fill in the blank -- complete a key definition or concept
- Sequence ordering -- arrange steps or events in the correct order
After answering each question, the player shows immediate feedback: correct answers are highlighted in green, incorrect answers show the right answer with an explanation drawn from the lecture content. You can retry incorrect questions or skip ahead to the next chapter.
Quizzes are optional. If you prefer uninterrupted reading, you can disable them in the player settings or simply tap Skip Quiz to advance to the next chapter. Your quiz results are saved and visible in the project's Smart Notes section for later review.
